How You Can Help

Intake Volunteers: take information over the phone from those needing help

Business Contact Persons: recruit businesses to become part of our partnership in helping those in need in our communities

Clerical/Office Volunteers: copy and collate mailings, file records, enter computer data

Church Contact Persons: link volunteers in your congregation to referrals of those in need

Home Maintenance or Repair: bring a youth group to rake leaves or recruit a group of volunteers to do small household repairs

Pick up or Deliver Furniture: using your truck, help unused furniture find a new home

Public Relations: develop promotional brochures and use other media to let others know about our ministry

Special Events/Projects: from picnics to auctions and bowling events, we hold social gatherings and fund raisers throughout the year

Transport: drive seniors to doctor appointments or dentist visits in the local area or in St. Louis

Make a Financial Contribution

BEACON currently has three part-time staff members. Our office expenses include utilities, office supplies, postage, and various miscellaneous expenses. Most of the work is done by volunteers, and much of the financial support comes from pledges and the generosity of our partner churches. We try to make the most of what we have to work with and to be good stewards of God's resources.

Money may also be designated as direct help for clients to provide incentives, such as vouchers for gas and food, to those who attend Relational Ministries.

Use Your Talents

If you have a talent or interest that you feel may not be covered above, call our Clearinghouse Director and talk with her. We are open to any assistance that God chooses to place in our path. Thank you for giving this your prayerful consideration.
