BEACON Quick Facts
BEACON has been a community leader in connecting people in need to services and resources; in assisting with building relationships that will lead people to communities of faith; and in partnering with churches to address the deeper issues that contribute to poverty and hopelessness.
Furniture Ministry
The good feeling of helping a family in need is universal. Our volunteers pick up donated furniture and household goods, and also deliver to individuals unable to pick up. The look on a child's face when they get their first bed is truely rewarding.
Transportation Ministry
BEACON has very dedicated volunteers who give up their time to take elderly to medical appointments, to the store, or to the bank if there is no other option available to them. In 2008, we provided over 200 rides to people so they could remain independent.
Relational Ministry
We provide a relational ministry program, which has the goals of budget training, teaching life skills as they relate to Biblical principles, and relationship building between clients and church volunteers. Two groups currently meet in Belleville and O'Fallon.
BEACON facilitated goods and services equaling $277,913 to meet the needs of individuals in our community in 2010.
